On February 12, 2020, RG&E filed an application for an amendment to the Article VII Certificate issued on December 16, 2004 in Case 03-T-1385 (Rochester Transmission Project or RTP) with the New York State Public Service Commission (PSC). The application amendment proposed the construction of a new 115kV line, to be designated as Line 949, a total distance of approximately 6.7 miles, from Station 418 in the Town of Gates to Station 48 in the City of Rochester, Monroe County, and the expansions of Stations 48 and 418 to accommodate Proposed Line 949. July 20, 2023
On July 20, 2023, the PSC approved RG&E’s Application to Amend its Article VII Certificate of Environmental Compatibility and Public Need for the RTP. The Order amending the Certificate was issued and effective July 21, 2023, and included amendments to the original Certificate thereby approving the routing and need for the RTPE. See more

On June 24, 2024, RG&E filed the Environmental Management and Construction Plan (EM&CP) with PSC. The EM&CP details the precise location of project facilities and precautions to ensure environmental compatibility. See more
